San Lorenzo Market Near Piazza del Duomo. Firenze |
Florence (Italian: Firenze, alternative obsolete spelling: Fiorenza, Latin: Florentia) is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany and of the province of Florence. It is the most populous city in Tuscany, with 367,569 inhabitants (1,500,000 in the metropolitan area).
The city lies on the River Arno and is known for its history and its importance in the Middle Ages and in the Renaissance, especially for its art and architecture. A centre of medieval European trade and finance and one of the richest and wealthiest cities of the time, Florence is considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance; in fact, it has been called the Athens of the Middle Ages. It was long under the de facto rule of the Medici family.

A market with a history. Those Medicis were interesting people, to say the least.
Your choice of tone and primarily monochrome is so different from many of the other photos for today. Very original. Thanks for stopping at my anniversary post today!
absolutely love this.
Somehow, I hear the music in this photo. Either the photo is that good or I need a doctor. I am sure it is option number 1.
Un sueno de imagen. Hermosisima. Todo un placer.
Oh yes!! I know this market and love it and have never seen it photographed so wonderfully and with those touches of colour. Bravo Carraol. As always, you've done it again!
Excelente procesado. Me gusta mucho la fotografĂa. Saludos
It's a bit like the scene from a dream. Very interestin photo!
I love the muted colors and the overall photograph!
Your monochrome is stunning and the selective coloring...perfect. I can't stop gazing at this scene. It's so intriguing...
I really...really love this image.
Wonderful !
Gorgeous! I love the dimension in this.
What a great photo, I love the way you've subtley used color... And I want to know what those women are talking about. And the Duomo in the backgeround-- fantastic. One of my favorite things about Florence and the Duomo is the way it suddenly sneaks up on you around a corner, or peeping through an alley. Although "peep" is maybe not the right word to use for such an amazing (and large) structure.
Un procesado realmente bueno y con la foto has captado perfectamente el ambiente de tan interesante lugar. Saludos.
Excelente....
