The Magic of the Cities.

Zen promotes the rediscovery of the obvious, which is so often lost in its familiarity and simplicity. It sees the miraculous in the common and magic in our everyday surroundings. When we are not rushed, and our minds are unclouded by conceptualizations, a veil will sometimes drop, introducing the viewer to a world unseen since childhood. ~ John Greer

Photo of The Year 2011. Theme Day January 1st, 2012

For its simplicity

(Revolcadero Beach. Acapulco, Mx)

For its softness

(Out  of  Cielo. New York City)

For its significance!

Time - Pink Floyd

Ticking away the moments
that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours
In an offhand way

Kicking around on a piece of ground
In your home town
Waiting for someone or something
To show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine
Staying home to watch the rain
And you are young and life is long
And there is time to kill today

And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun

And you run and you run
To catch up with the sun
But it's sinking

Racing around
To come up behind you again

The sun is the same
In a relative way
But you're older

Shorter of breath
And one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter
Never seem to find the time

Plans that either come to naught
Or half a page of scribbled lines

Hanging on in quiet desperation
Is the English way

The time is gone
The song is over
Thought I'd something more to say

Home
Home again
I like to be here
When I can

When I come home
Cold and tired
It’s good to warm my bones
Beside the fire

Far away
Across the field
Tolling on the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spell...

Your work is so penetrating how could you pick one favorite? These are three brilliant shots. The unspoiled seashore - but for the tire tracks; the similar Little Black Dresses and identical hair of young women in the haze of a New York night club (where you would never find me); and, if my guess is correct, today words fail to raise the wind, in the context of vengeance and - is it the pepper, the country or both?

I hope to see much of your beautiful work in 2012! For you - all the best and even more creativity, if it is possible. The first photo - I could kill for (not really!) I love the second, too.
